When I was walking through Joann's looking for fabric for a colorful Laurel, I just kept coming back to this one. I wasn't sure I'd wear it much, but it just seemed so perfect. The 4th time past it I caved.
The pattern of the fabric being so busy, I didn't want to bind the neck and arms to the outside like my first Laurel. I also didn't want to bind it to the inside and sew 1/2 inch in, or hand sew it.
After consulting my mom I decided to make facings. They worked except they kept flipping to the right side. I ended up top stitching as close to the edge as I could and I think that worked well. The facings stay put and the top stitching is barely noticible.
