I'm back with more of my summer testing for the Pattern Anthology 8 Days a Week collection! The McCartney Jacket is a grown up version of the Imagine Jacket I made B earlier in the summer. Let me tell you, I was so excited to see it in grown up sizes!!
When the Imagine came to me, I was intimidated by the thought of a jacket, but I had so much fun making it that I was happy to see the McCartney Jacket show up. The instructions are very clear and I like the construction order- it looks nice on the inside without hand sewing. I made the XXS for M.
This is another project where M picked out her own fabric and was (once again) much more brave than I am. And of course I love it! It's a bottom weight with a little stretch that we got at JoAnn's. A rainbow of colors with a vague animal print? Sign her up! It's lined in black flannel with black ribbing. She loved the idea of soft flannel and keeping it black was a good compliment to the crazy exterior. Man was it hard to photograph without looking blurry!
I definitely want to make this jacket for myself too. Decidedly less crazy fabric, I'm sure. I'm not as brave as a 12 year old! Although, if I can wear a dress with the alphabet all over it then I guess anything is possible!
